WHO IS THIS FOR

  • Designated Well-being First Responders

  • Peer supporters who have completed PFA training

  • HR and well-being leads who hold supportive conversations

THIS COURSE IS FOR YOU IF...

  • You know the PFA framework but want to use it confidently under pressure

  • You want practice, not theory

  • You hold or expect to hold difficult conversations

RATIONALE

Knowing the framework is not the same as using it under pressure; a conversation can contain distress or accidentally escalate it. This course focuses on how supportive conversations are actually conducted, closing with six facilitator-guided simulations that rise from everyday distress to suicide ideation and safety escalation.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Articulate the purpose, scope and limits of supportive conversations at work

  2. Apply LOOK-LISTEN-LINK to conduct safe, empathetic conversations

  3. Recognise indicators of distress through observation, without diagnosing

  4. Use calm, containing listening to reduce emotional escalation

  5. Activate support or escalation pathways while keeping professional boundaries

WHY THIS COURSE, WHY NOW

Appointed responders need evidence of practical readiness, not attendance alone. Small-group, simulation-based practice is less common in the market.

What sets it apart: Six graded live simulations in one session, capped at 16 so every participant practises.
