WHO IS THIS FOR

  • Employees and managers under sustained workload

  • Caring and service professions prone to compassion fatigue

  • Teams after a peak period, restructuring or prolonged change

THIS COURSE IS FOR YOU IF...

  • You feel exhausted even after rest

  • You find it hard to switch off from work

  • You want to set boundaries without guilt

RATIONALE

Burnout builds quietly and is often noticed only after performance drops or people leave. Drawing on neuroscience, resilience science and Psychological First Aid, this course helps participants recognise their limits early and de-escalate chronic stress, using the SEAT model, the Johari Window, Circle of Control and a personal burnout and boundary audit.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Distinguish burnout from chronic work stress

  2. Spot early signs across emotional, mental, physical and spiritual domains

  3. Apply self-directed, trauma-informed LOOK-LISTEN-LINK techniques

  4. Strengthen personal boundaries against exhaustion and compassion fatigue

  5. Uncover hidden stress patterns using the Johari Window

  6. Design a Recovery & Resilience Plan with SMART self-care actions

WHY THIS COURSE, WHY NOW

The World Health Organisation recognises burnout as an occupational phenomenon, and it is now the language employees use themselves. Organisations increasingly need a response when engagement surveys flag high stress.

What sets it apart: Applies psychological first aid inward, as first aid for yourself, with a personal burnout and boundary audit.

BENEFITS FOR INDIVIDUALS

  • Earlier recognition of burnout in themselves

  • Clearer, sustainable boundaries

  • A personal recovery plan

BENEFITS FOR YOUR ORGANISATION

  • A practical response to stress flagged in engagement surveys

  • Earlier intervention before absence or resignation

  • Healthier norms around workload and recovery

WHY ORGANISATIONS CHOOSE IT

  • A topic that resonates personally with staff

  • A direct answer to engagement-survey findings

  • Earns 2 SDU; also available as part of the WSQ Sustainable Resilience & Self-Care programme
