A Well-being First Responder™ is the go-to individual within an organisation for initial support on mental health and well-being concerns.
Their role goes beyond typical peer support; it involves acting as the primary, approachable contact for colleagues in need of immediate emotional support or guidance. Well-being first responders are trained to listen empathetically, provide immediate emotional support, and, where necessary, direct individuals to appropriate resources or professional help.
Being a first place responder is about fostering a safe, inclusive workplace environment where employees feel comfortable reaching out for help. They help bridge the gap between employees and more formal mental health resources, ensuring colleagues feel supported from the very first point of contact.
